Totally recyclable (PET).

TheCointainer coin packs are environmentally friendly.

They are made of PET (polyethylene terephtalate), the ecological alternative to chlorinated plastics.

We strive to eliminate from our packaging all toxic materials for recycling in excess of European directive 94/62 CE standards.

Reduction and recovery of waste.

The institutions certified for packaging recovery only sort plastic packaging suitable for recycling. The different materials (colourless PET, coloured PET, light blue PET and HDPE) are separated manually in specialised sorting centres.

Unlike other materials that lose value with each recycling, PET retains, or even improves, its quality over time due to its plastic chemistry.

Environmental impact.

PET substantially improves the environmental situation:

• Reduction in packaging waste and the tonnage of waste for incineration;
• Savings in natural resources in the production of plastics;
• Energy saving of 60% for recycling PET compared with the production of new plastic.

Chlorine free.

The chlorine in traditional plastic packaging is considered to be toxic by many environmental organisations. Over time this could be subject to ecotaxes, as is already the case in Denmark.
